A break in the clouds

19 05 2012

A couple weeks ago it felt that every time that I was home with Piran and Kate the heavens opened and the rain fell. I had run out of cold and rainy day ideas long ago and had been relying on the TV and films too much again. So, when I was driving home from swimming a week or so ago and they said on the radio that the afternoon would be dry I was determined to get us all out. We went to Raysteade, which if you are even in East Sussex is a great place to visit to see the animals and birds.

I took my DSLR which is now firmly switched to manual and although I am sure I still have a lot to learn I was really happy with the way these pictures came out.

The rain had left great puddles for splashing, there were ducks to count and boss about, Kate took her first steps outside and the two of them played on the wooden tractor until I had to drag them to the car kicking and screaming when it closed at 4pm. Even that couldn’t dent my mood, it was a brilliant afternoon.

I think Kate looks a bit like a slightly crazy old lady here!
