Review: VUP Baby

29 04 2012
Initial thoughts: We were sent a Janod Multi Car Truck from VUP baby for Piran to review. They kindly also sent a Little Green Sheep Sea Sponge for Kate. The truck looked like a toy I was really going to like, made from wood and had a really stylish design.

We liked: The quality of the car transporter is great. The cars are bright and colourful and well made. It is a stylised design and different to any others that I have seen.  The sponge is lovely, and a welcome change from the basic ones I buy at the supermarket. It has been fun to play with wet and dry and Kate loves to chew it a bit in the bath!

We didn’t like: The back of the truck detaches from the front and sometimes Piran had trouble putting it back together, mostly because of the size of the two parts and his small hands.  I also found that he played with it for a short time and then it lost his interest. It could be because he is a little older than the 18 months+ that they toy is aimed at. In recent weeks Kate has started playing with it more than him. The sponge was quite expensive but it is completely natural and would make a great addition to a treasure basket for a baby.

Overall: The truck is a lovely toy and perfect if you prefer wooden to plastic toys. At £24.95 I think it is quite expensive for what it is and if I had bought if for Piran and it hadn’t kept his attention for very long I would have been disappointed. However I think it would be great for a present for a younger child. All products sold by VUP baby are non toxic and free from BPA, PVC and Phthalates which is very reassuring.
